#35 Bi-Rite Creamery – The Big 100 Eat

Bi-rite Creamery’s salted caramel ice cream is #35 on 7x7 Magazine 100 Things you must try before you die in San Francisco list. I don’t need to add much to their awesome-liciousness reputation. The salted caramel is savory with the sweetness of rich caramel.

Other favorites include roasted banana, butter pecan toffee and balsamic strawberry. There is a lot of Bi-Rite vs. Humphry Slocombe, in my opinion they are different. HS is more adventurous with foie gras and prosciutto flavors. HS is never as busy as Bi-Rite probably because it’s still new and further down in the Mission.

My favorite and most popular flavor at HS is the Vietnamese bluebottle coffee and Secret Breakfast. Both business are green and organic.

The Vietnamese coffee is amazing! But I do like the salted caramel at Bi-Rite. The maple walnut and balsamic caramel at HS are also excellent.
