Rosamunde Sausage Grill’s beer sausage with grilled onions and sauerkraut is #23 on 7x7 Magazine 100 Things to try before you die list. I had Rosa on my to-try list for awhile and finally made it out there with the motivation to complete the list.
Located in the lower haight across from Memphis Minnie’s and a indie record shop. I learned the “rules” from one of my yelp friends.
1.) Order the sausage only (don’t tell them your condiments)
2.) Wait about 7-10 mins for your sausage to grill up
3.) When it’s ready they will ask you about condiments and if it’s for next door (Toronado bar) or to-go.
The beer sausage is spicy beef and pork served on a grill bun, it’s not a cheap supermarket flimsy bun but with substance. I added grilled onions and sauerkraut (as recommended) and added hot peppers. I can’t wait to come back for a duck fig sausage and make the date a Tuesday because I heard the hamburgers are awesomely delicious too.
