The fresh jackfruit is no doubt, superior to the canned variety, often drenched in heavy syrup which devoid the flavor. I like to describe Jackfruit as a cross between a pear and lychee.

Harvesting the bulbs of jackfruit is part of the fun. However, I wear gloves because the gumminess of the sap will stick to the fingers in an unpleasant way. The seeds of the jackfruit is edible, usually baked before consumption.
I often snack on apples, oranges, bananas, or grapes but it is an exciting treat to mix it up with fresh jackfruit.
