For the past two years, we bought him a cake from a dog boutique store. The cakes are hard as a rock to keep it shelf stable. In addition, we didn't know what ingredients were in the cake. My sister and I decided to make a cake this year. My friend Samantha supplied me with the recipe who recently celebrated her dog's 12th birthday.
Peanut Butter Carrot Cake

1 tsp baking soda
1/4 Cup peanut butter
1/4 Cup vegetable oil
1 Cup shredded carrots
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 Cup honey
1 egg
Preheat oven to 350 degree
Sift the flour and baking soda, mix in the rest of the ingredients. Spray two 4 inch cake pan with oil and divide half of the batter into each pan.
Bake the cake for 12-15 mins until toothpick comes out clean. Cool the cake on a cookie rack.

Banana Cream Cheese Frosting
1 Ripe Banana
6 ounces non-fat cream cheese
1/2 tsp vanilla
Mash the banana with a potato masher in a bowl. In another bowl incorporate the vanilla with the cream cheese. Fold in the banana with the cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate until ready to use.

People like to tease and some are even flabbergasted when dog owners celebrate birthdays, Christmas and other holiday with their pets. Yes, the pets don't even acknowledge the holiday or understand. My family and I celebrate Momo's birthday because we are celebrating how much love he has given us.

The cake is very tasty, I had a slice myself.

Such a cute little cake! You've got a lucky dog there! Did he snaffle it all down? Oh - and I thought dogs and cats were lactose intolerant?
