The "sibling" to the Philly Cheesesteak. Food related television always push the cheesesteak as the mascot of Philadelphia, I think culturally the sandwich is synonymous with the city. However, at 2010's SF Chef 'Whole Hog' lecture and Native Philadelphians proclaim it is the pork sandwich that reign supreme.



I had my first Philly-style pork sandwich at the 'Whole Hog' event, thinly sliced roasted pork, provolone cheese and broccoli rabe, it was fantastic - light, juicy and no food coma.

Dinic's at the Reading Terminal is popular, the stall had a line throughout the day, however the line moves fast. Adam Richman on Man v Food featured the roast pork but the pulled pork dominated.


The pull pork was so tender it almost dissipates upon consumption. We dressed the pull pork with provolone, peppers and spinach. The sandwich was slightly soaked from the pork drippings and the bread held up throughout consumption. Really a fully flavorful porky goodness sandwich, I put it in my top 5 of sandwiches.


The roasted pork was slightly dry and bland especially since we all tried the pulled pork first, the difference was noticeable. Still an excellent and large sandwich for under $10.


The staff was friendly and fast with the order. The workers moved around in the tight space with precision. Dinic's is a most stop when in the Reading Terminal. Bonus: Dinci's takes credit card.
