Naturally, I tune out commercials when they play on the radio especially the "body wrap" commercials which is overplayed like Lady Gaga's latest single. I subconsciously thought of the commercial when I had a big event coming up. After some research I made an appointment at a holistic clinic and I wished I spent the money on a pair of shoes instead.
I was dressed in a plush bathrobe and slippers and waited in the "relaxation" room with a cup of herbal tea splashed with almond milk. The sounds of waves thrashing on rocks were playing and I was browsing their collection of magazine.
On the last page of a "raw" lifestyle magazine I came across a recipe for avocado chocolate mousse. I like avocado in sweet dishes and I couldn't wait to try the recipe at home. At least I got something good out of the whole experience. The buttery smooth texture of avocado is a fantastic vehicle for dessert dishes.

Agave Nectar Lake
As part of the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program, I received a few California Avocados.
Avocado Chocolate Mousse
1-2 servings
1 ripe avocado
1/4 Cup cocoa powder
1/4 Cup raw agave nectar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Peel and quarter avocado. Put all the ingredients in a blender or use a hand mixer and blend well. Serve immediately.

I usually make 1-2 servings because when I am craving for something rich and cocoa I turn to this dessert. The amount is perfect for a little noshing while playing 'Words for Friends' or reading my comic books.
The chocolate mousse is vegan and healthier than the original version. But seriously, who cares, as long as the dessert is good. (I say the above sentence because if I mention the word "raw" or "vegan" to some people I know, they already frown and contrive a bias before actually tasting the food.)

This one is saying "Peek-a-boo"
Vegan, raw and whatever else, it does not matter as long as it's good. I served the avocado chocolate mousse to "some people" and didn't tell them it was raw or vegan and they scarfed it down. Warmer weather is coming, aka more leggy outfits, so I'll be seeing a lot of you Mr. Avocado Chocolate Mousse.

I actually saw something like this on Dr. Oz! It sounds so unique and totally delicious. I can imagine how creamy it must be. Great photos!
Did you put back in the skin, that is what it looks like? And pretty great recipe!!
I've never had an avocado desert, but I adore avocados, I'd love to try something like this. It sounds fabulous.
*kisses* HH
mmmm, looks delicious! I had a chocolate "cheesecake" at alive! in the ferry building and wondered how they put that together. Looks wonderful! Very inspiring.
Avocado and chocolate definitely rock together. You can fool a lot of people with this one. Try and avocado coconut ice cream too. It's vegan as well!
Wow, this looks great!! I love both chocolate and avocado.
